Skinner West Parent Open House

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for the 2014-2015 Open House.  It was a very informative and well-attended event. We look forward to a successful school year with our Skinner Superstars!

Skinner West Walkathon
October 9, 2014

Reminder-all Walkathon monies are due to your classroom teacher on Monday, October 6th. There is a minimum $10 pledge, however, we are asking each student to raise at least $55 to walk or $75 to bike/scooter. All students in the school will be participating.

On the day of the event, students who bring bikes/scooters will be directed to the outdoor areas near the parks to check in those items. Each classroom will have their own outdoor bike storage area with a sign. Please bring the bike/scooter to your classroom's assigned area.  Each bike or scooter will be tagged.  Students MUST bring and wear a helmet with their bike or scooter or they will not be allowed to ride it.

Parents should remember to send a refillable water bottle with their student on the day of the Walkathon (Thursday, Oct. 9th).

All students in the school will be provided with a pizza lunch that day, provided by Friends of Skinner West.

Kindergarten parents must bring their child to the Skinner School cafe in the morning. On the way to the walkathon, they will drop off their book bags to be stored in the gym.  The Kindergarten students will begin their walk at Skinner and, therefore, should be dropped off there. They will return to the branch for lunch.

Many volunteers are still needed. Please sign up for one of the committees on the Google Doc by clicking here.

Skinner West hats and water bottles will be available for sale the day of the event if you would like to send money with your child  for purchasing those items.

Thank you for helping us make the Walkathon a success!  If you have any questions, please contact Marla Sedler at
